Road tripping through FL in my camper van I stopped at a beach off A1A which had some abandoned houses. I learned that the houses were badly damaged during hurricane Matthew, which wiped out the entire road of Old A1A, and left 70 ft of sand behind the houses. Some of the citizens whose houses were not completely destroyed, built a sand road leading up to where their driveways use to be.
Hopefully the city will replace their road soon.
