dining room updates

It was Tuesday. I had been here in Cyprus for two full weeks.
Things were good. Acclimating to boat life was taking some adjusting, but the sea breeze and the marina views were carrying me through the minor issues. I was doing laundry on the deck when I noticed a girl wondering down our dock. She was dressed in jeans, a tee shirt, and carried a large backpack.

“Hello sir?, I am looking for a boat going to Greece. I am from Belgium. I am a traveler".

I could not hear how the man was responding; I was hoping he was telling her no. For we were the next occupied boat, and I wanted her with us.

On a sunny day in April I boarded my first international flight... 36 hours later I landed on the small island of Cyprus. Just twelve days earlier I had had no plan. Its funny how things can change so quickly... How in one moment or with the tap of a few buttons, your whole life can drastically change. I had been looking for a sailing gig for quite some time, and suddenly in just a few days, everything aligned. Now I was in Europe. Now I was learning to sail.

The plan was June 1st, but when sailing you can never be sure. Everything was weather dependant, and so on May 23rd we set sail. It was a three day trip from Limissol, Cyprus to Crete. Crete (Greece) has been #1 on my bucket list for a long time now... I was so exited. It was finally happening!
